THING #17: ADD AN ENTRY TO THE SPL-LEARNING SANDBOX

A "sandbox" is geek-speak for an online place where you can try out new skills, and we have provided a sandbox page for the "27 Things" wiki exercise. In order to edit it, you must already have created your free PB Wiki account.  If you do not yet have a PB Wiki account, you can set one up now by clicking the create an account link in the right sidebar.

Discovery Exercises: 

1. So, let's play!  Print the instructions, or right-click to open them in a new tab.  Click through to the Sandbox page and follow the instructions for editing. Be creative!
2. When you're comfortable with the editing / saving process and the text formatting tools, add your blog's name and web address to the Staff Blogs page.  There! You've added content to a working wiki.  While you're there, explore the blogs of other 27 Things participants by using the links in the Staff Blogs table.
3. Write a post on your own blog about your experience and include your thoughts about what you personally, or Sacramento Public Library might be able to accomplish with a wiki.  
4. Extra Credit: Visit the Sacramento Wiki and see if any information has been published about the Sacramento Public Library.  Collaborate with a buddy to add or edit a library page on that wiki.  Blog it.
